
There are currently nine major research sites divided into three geographical areas that are directly linked into this particular project. The first four are located at Imnaviat Creek near the Toolik Field Station on the north slope of Alaska, USA and consist of the Ridge Station, the Tussock Site, the Fen Station and the Radiation Tower. Two research sites are located near the North East Science Station (NESS) at Cherskii, Russia and consist of the Pleistocene Park Station and the Snow Station. Three sites are associated with the Anaktuvuk River Burn Project and consist of three stations - One located in a severely burned area, another located in a moderately burned area and an unburned control site.
